Dementia Caregiver Connection: Free Workshops for Caregivers
Caring for a loved one with dementia can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly challenging. The Dementia Caregiver Connection was created to provide caregivers with practical guidance, emotional support, and trusted resources through a series of free educational workshops.
Hosted at the Center for Health and Wellbeing in Winter Park, this four-part workshop series runs from February through May, with sessions held on Feb. 5, March 5, April 2, and May 7 from 2:00–3:30 PM. Each workshop focuses on a critical aspect of the dementia caregiving journey, presented by experienced professionals who work closely with seniors and their families.
Topics include:
- Financial and Legal Planning, including long-term care options and essential estate planning documents
- Daily Routines That Bring Comfort and Calm, with tips on reducing confusion and supporting activities of daily living
- Navigating Family Dynamics and Tough Conversations, helping families make shared decisions and support one another
- Managing Medical Care, including working with healthcare providers, organizing medications, and advocating for loved ones
To support caregivers even further, complimentary respite care is available during the workshops with advance registration.
These workshops are free and open to anyone caring for someone with dementia. Space is limited, and preregistration is required.
